To All Physics Majors:
Every year, the Physics Department is able to award several scholarships of $1000 from the
Bruce Campbell Scholarship Fund.
Dr. Bruce Campbell is an alumnus of the URI Physics Department (class of '62).
Dr. Campbell's establishment of the scholarship fund and his continued generous gifts
to the fund enable us to award increasing numbers of scholarships each year.
This year we expect to award three scholarships.
Eligible are all current Undergraduate Students who are enrolled in the Physics B.S.
or Physics B.A. programs or in the Physics and Physical Oceanography B.S. program.
The awards are largely based on academic merit.
If you wish to be considered for a Bruce Campbell Scholarship, you must inform us in writing.
Your letter must include one or two paragraphs stating what it is that attracts you to physics
and what it is that made you decide to a career in physics.

The deadline for your letter is Friday, August 8, 2003.
Awardees will be notified in late August.
