Constrained Path Monte Carlo: Issues
and Applications. Real-time dynamics
I will briefly summarize the increasing number of applications and
extenstions of the constrained-path Monte Carlo method (CPMC) to
lattice models of interacting electrons. Principally three topics will
be discussed: 1) the overcompleteness of the basis and its implication
for the boundedness of energy estimators, 2) the utilization of
strongly correlated trial wavefunctions, and 3) the computation of
imaginary-time dependent correlation functions. I will conclude with
remarks about extensions in progress and areas needing additional
development.
